This site presents some information and test results on the Panasonic FZ35/38, ZS3/TZ7, ZS20/TZ30, ZS30/TZ40 and FZ50 digicams and the Panasonic 700 and 900 series camcorders.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ35/38

Added February 2011: FZ35/38 and Closeup Lenses

I have added a section about taking closeups with the FZ35/38, including the use of achromats; extending the working distance using a teleconverter; and taking closeup shots of oil and water droplets.

Added March 2011: Changes in FZ35/38 Resolution with ISO setting

I have added a section reporting tests I conducted to examine the changes in resolution of the FZ35/38 with ISO setting and some tests on changes in JPG compression using different shooting modes.

I tested the IQ of the ZS3/TZ7 with different firmware versions.

I carried out some comparisons of the ZS3/TZ7 with the ZS7/TZ10.

I tested the ZS3/TZ7 with some teleconverters using a DIY adapter.

Added October 2012: ZS20 with Teleconverters

I have added a section about using the ZS20 with teleconverters, including a DIY adapter and an evaluation of the performance on the ZS20 of various teleconverters and stacked teleconverters.

Added January 2013: Movies with the ZS20

I have added further sections about movies with the ZS20 including 1080/60p movies from still images; high speed/slow motion movies and animated GIFs; and a 1080/60p movie from a still panorama.

Added January 2013:  P Mode and iISO with the ZS20

I have added a section about how P mode and iISO operate on the ZS20 under different lighting conditions.

Added March 2013: ZS20 used as a Microscope

I have added a section which demonstatres how by using teleconverters together with a reversed lens the FZ20 can effectively be used as a low power microscope.

Added March 2013: Adapters for the ZS/TZ series

I have added a page which describes alternative options for an adapter to enable the use of filters, add-on lenses and teleconverters with the ZS/TZ series.
